Hello to Mr. Wu's former Spring 2017' IS101-3017 students. Thought I'd come through with a final post to say hello. Hoping everyone is doing well... while fulfilling through daily life's demands.
It's been right-about a year since my last posting. Professor Wu suggested, I should post on Blogger for a last time I thought, sure... "Why not??" Despite, our intro to this neat tool, my blog postings still happen quite infrequently, rarely to never. After all those blog postings during IS101, I thing I was left with a case of Blogger's ''PTSD". I'm a bit curios to find how many students actually stayed current with posting anything on Blogger since IS101.
How many of you would actually be interested to continue posting on Blogger?. Think I have a good feeling, I may not be alone or falling too far behind any current blog users. Interesting how despite the rapidly-changing world of technology certain things remain unchanged... I'm still terrible at keeping up with social media like face book. When I still prefer dialing over texting! But am very-great full.
One important challenge I'm great full, joining in the journey and allowing for the opportunity.
I feel I've come a ways from our first day, glad to announce I am no longer as intimidated of computers and feel I've become more resilient towards adapting to change. I have much more to learn to get me to a desired level of computer knowledge but am certain I have the starting basics down.
"PTSD" from blogging during IS101? Too funny ;-p
ReplyDeleteTo see when the last blog posting was made by anyone from IS101-3071, look at the [My Blog List] gadget on the left side of your blog page http://elizabethporada.blogspot.com/ Most recent post is on top. After you visit that blog, you will see that it was posted on 12/30/2017.
From my past experience, a few students do post on their own IS101 blog once a twice after their semester ended. Some as long as over a year afterwards. But would their IS101 classmates or I still be checking?
Wonderful job on taking full advantage of your semester extension to finish the rigorous bonus set of SAM Projects and joining the upper half of the class Elizabeth, I am extremely proud of you ^_^
I am elated to hear you feel you (1) have come a long way from your first day of IS101-3017 Spring 2017, (2) are no longer intimidated of computers, and (3) have become more resilient towards adapting to change.
Staying connected is definitely a good thing to do! I would say we need to evolve the selectivity and the forum of the connecting. Instead of focusing on all folks from IS101-3017 Spring 2017, there must some individuals that you have a deeper or want a future bond with. Instead of blogger.com (for social networking), we can graduate to professional networking such as LinkedIn.com. Once you sign up for a LinkedIn account, you can search (you have the full names of your classmates and me) for other LinkedIn profiles :-)
I can do that.
DeleteOh Yes of course, How could i have not thought about where i could find my Last Blog post???.It's where it's always been and what felt like a year since last post had been months. I do not recommend staying up past midnight to post especially my last post. But am glad and honored to have expressed my thoughts about my journey in this class. These small, important changes i have acquired are a starting point I will carry through for the long-haul. Thank you again, for guiding me through.
ReplyDeleteSure I'll blog with you if I remember. lol. Glad to hear your doing well. I finished IS101 on my second attempt. I just passed my first CADD class last week. I'll be in school at least two more years. It's a good thing I like it. It's a lot of work. Have a great summer.
ReplyDeleteHello, Rich! It's great to learn you've continued with school, very smart of you as I'm proud of your achievements and making things happen. I had a feeling, you would like it :).
DeleteHey Rich I also meant to add, Congrats on your CADD's achievement. Mr. Wu is so proud of you, as you also inspire me to continue through. I believe, you and I have taken enough advantage of Mr. Wu and put him so much to a challenge over his 20 year teaching career Mr. Wu's placed us both or shall I say, we've earned our place as his top most, challenging/ed student's. Lol!! So funny, glad I and even more glad to share the spotlight w/u. Let's stick with that GROWTH mindset no telling how far we'll go.
DeleteSounds good. I'm going to set up a Linkedln account.
DeleteHey Liz, good to hear from you. Long after our IS101 class, its good to see someone still blogging. Do you have any plans to take summer classes?
ReplyDeleteHello Sharnae!! Thanks for the reply long after IS101. :) I may just need to hold off until returning to CSN until the fall semester. Definitely plan to come back! Glad to know, your doing well, take good care and hope to see you on both Blogger and CSN over the fall.
DeleteHi Sharnae',How you been? let's keep blogging.
DeleteWell I turned on my laptop today and it didn't have a desktop anymore. After a few clicks I figured how to restore it to a previous time. All systems GO!
